This cocktail differs greatly from the next cocktail we’ll be working on, the New York “Southside” cocktail. Aside from “Southside” being spelled in one word, it utilizes a different style of citrus and turns out to be quite different.
Both cocktails, however, have mint. Today, we’ll take a look at how that mint is impacted by the overall cocktail, will it be overpowering, complimentary or completely useless? Of course, given the history behind these cocktails and the desire for the recipe creators to hide bad gin flavor in a cocktail and make it drinkable, the cocktail should exhibit all the requirements to make a flavorful drink.
